Recognizing the Recipients of May’s Artist Spotlight

Xavier Nash, Communications Officer
On Thursday, May 14, during the final Greenwood Mic of the school year, the recipients of this month’s Artist Spotlight were announced. Members of the community are selected through nominations by their peers and teachers for their exemplary contributions to the school’s Arts.

Congratulations to this month’s featured artists:

Lotus Lampert ‘28: Lotus is recognized for her amazing contributions to the school’s theatre productions this year, being a valued member of the Booth Crew and a graphic designer. She worked on the play programs for each production and was applauded for being highly dependable and willing to take initiative wherever needed.

Claire Sparling ‘26: Claire is a multi-faceted artist with a diverse skillset covering acting, music and stage production. She acted in both the Sr Play and full-school musical while also being part of the Costume Crew for every production this year. Also a member of the Arts Committee, Claire continues to be a positive role model for the Arts in and out of its community.

Fiona Veneziano ‘31: Being both an actor and stage crew member for two of the school’s productions this year, Fiona is a positive and reliable force in the Arts community. Taking the stage as Milky White in Into the Woods Jr., Fiona continued to show her incredible dedication to the arts with the stage crew for the full-school musical.

Pit Band (Victoria Biancaniello ‘26, Ted Hollend ‘26, Richard Piasetski and Ander Smith ‘27): The Pit Band were an incredible asset to the full-school musical, showcasing incredible amounts of dedication and talent. The band began rehearsing in the fall, learning the difficult and professional Broadway score of The Prom, raising the calibre of the school’s production through their exceptional accompaniment. Congratulations to Victoria, Ted, Mr. Piasetski and Ander!

Thank you all for your immense contributions to Greenwood’s thriving Arts community!

We acknowledge with gratitude the Ancestral lands upon which our main campus is situated. These lands are the Ancestral territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabek and the Wendake. The shared responsibility of this land is honoured in the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and we strive to care for the land, the waters, and all creatures in the spirit of peace. We are responsible for respecting and supporting the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. When away from this campus we vow to be respectful to the land by protecting and honouring it. We will create relationships with the people and the land we may visit by understanding the territories we enter and the nations who inhabit them.
